snow day.

snow day | reading my tea leaves snow day | reading my tea leaves snow day | reading my tea leavessnow day | reading my tea leaves snow day | reading my tea leavesΒ Just a little snow report for a Monday morning. We had exactly the snowy, time-stopping kind of weekend I’d wished for: Grilled cheese sandwiches and chocolate chip cookies with neighbors; a shoelace rope, a little extra packing tape and a sheepie thrown inside her box to makeΒ a sled for Faye; a snowy ride to get croissants. Starting Monday feeling equal parts wistful and refreshed: it’s January after all.

    That sled!! πŸ™‚
Most unique one I’ve seen from the aftermath of the storm. Looks like it works perfectly too.

Your creativity and resourcefulness amazes me! Also I’m so jealous of all that snow…we did not get any snow yet this year and I’m afraid there won’t be any in the future either πŸ™

I admired your pictures on Instagram all weekend! I’m in South Florida, so we obviously never get snow. It surprisingly got down to 40 on Saturday and I about died when I realized I don’t have a heater in my apartment! Goes to show how much I don’t need it since I’m just realizing that after having moved into it in April… πŸ™‚

I’m just now working on getting together my winter capsule wardrobe, which is likely only going to last for a couple weeks, but it’s prepping me for spring, too! If you haven’t ever been to South Florida in the winter you should absolutely check it out πŸ™‚ It’s just lovely.

Sounds like a dreamy day. I’ve been wishing for snow in our neck of the woods, but none to report on. I just ordered your book this morning and I can’t wait to receive it in the mail here soon!

Here in Maryland we are still trying to dig our way out from under the blizzard. As a Georgia girl, I’m very much unaccustomed to this much snow at once! I’ve been so thankful for a few extra days off though. It’s amazing how people come together and start helping each other in times like this, asking if we need help or just shoveling without even being asked.

    Wonderland! Sweet pictures.
This is timely as I am currently struggling with shoes. I have too many of them to accommodate chicago’s weather. It get’s hot and very hot, it get’s cold and very cold, it’s rainy, it’s warm…so now I am considering my winter collection. From previous posts, you don’t seem to have many shoes. Can you share which one you wore during the snowy weather?

Shoes are kind of my weak spot (more about them in a post in my minimalist wardrobe series), but I try to keep things under control. I do have a pair of great, fairly heavy-duty Sorel snow boots. Too many winters visiting my relatives upstate made me cave a few years ago and I’m so glad I did!

Thanks! I am amazed by how you store all your belongings ;). It would be wonderful if you made an updated minimalist shoe collection including “special weather” wear (snow, rain,…).

Wonderful sled; it sounds like a perfect weekend. I live in the northern Sacramento (California) valley and we very rarely get snow, though the mountains around us are beautifully snow-covered. We’re so thankful for all the rain we’re getting so far this winter, though!

Absolutely adorable ! And very resourceful – your little one will remember that ride down the snowy street with her Dad…..
    Precious !
