this friday night, i was really in the mood for a summery cocktail to sip on while perched in a rocker on the front porch. in trolling the web for good cocktail recipes, i realized that what i was really after was something refreshing, but that didn’t require a fully stocked bar to make! i stumbled upon gourmet magazine’s special series featuring favorite cocktails from 1941-2009. james and i decided on making dunham coolers, a favorite from the 1950s. cocktails and history! woohoo!

Mmmmmm… especially in a rocker on the front porch!!
yum!
p.s. do you have the recipe for the tomato tart u showed a few posts ago?
We've been enjoying waaay too many Margaritas on the porch… so summery and fun. I think I might have to try these dunham coolers next!
A vintage evening…in the rockers on the front porch, so sweet. 🙂
That's so neat! I'm going to have to rifle through that series now.
What a fun idea! We do cocktail hours too. It would be fun to accompany the drinks with some era-specific snacks as well. Can I also note that I love that you lounge on a rocker on your front porch? That’s the beautiful South if I ever read it…
