my week in objects (mostly).

February 26, 2016

five little things that made my week.

1. this new little bread bag.bread_bag_reading_my_tea_leaves_IMG_5139{for arriving so quickly.}

2. these little blocks.blocks_reading_my_tea_leaves_IMG_5135{because all numbers are “free”. and it’s the cutest thing.}

3. this washable rug.rug_reading_my_tea_leaves_IMG_5151{for fitting—just–into the bathroom sink.}

4. this jar of nuts and seeds and other things.nuts_reading_my_tea_leaves_IMG_5133{because i’ve been adding them to my morning pot of oatmeal (with plenty of brown sugar) and whee!}

5. this half-full cup of coffee.coffee_reading_my_tea_leaves_IMG_5147{because it has a secret. more next week.}

these love birds.

freeze yer toast.

patriarchal panic.

sharewear.

willowbrook girls.

hollywood.

let us not unbend our breakfast.

    One of my favorite weekly Internet moments is when this post shows up!
    Just a small note: I think the link to “let us not unbend our breakfast.” needs to be fixed.

    I love the bento bag. I bought a couple a few years ago and they hold up really well. So useful and beautiful at the same time!

      i want a bento bag! i currently store my homemade bread in a ziploc — how well does the bento bag keep things fresh?

        I love storing in cloth because I feel like the bread doesn’t get as rubbery as it does in plastic. But we tend to gobble our loaves pretty quickly! See also: the link about toast;)

      I second that! Can you give us the breakdown of what is in it, and if you change any of the oatmeal cooking at all?
      We desperately need some substance in our oatmeal now that these boys are growing!

        oh, gosh! nothing fancy! there are pepitas and walnuts and cashews and sunflowers seeds. raisins and dates. almonds! it’s a mix that our grocery store sells in bulk. i don’t change anything about the cooking…but i’m a very imprecise oatmeal maker. i just add a hearty sprinkle and enjoy!

    I feel like either I’m missing something obvious or you have a small typeo 🙂 Why are you putting a rug into the bathroom sink?

        oh, ha, duh. I really couldn’t figure out why you wanted to line your sink with a rug. Must drink more tea 🙂

        Coconut oil? I tried it for a week but didn’t see enough change for it to stick. I think I changed brands mid week and it was not for the better. I’m glued to my internet to find out the answer!

    My absolute favourite post of the week. I always check in too early on Fridays to see if this is up yet! I am intrigued by the bread bag.

    love those blocks. would/did you actually buy them at amazon though?

      They were a gift to us from a dear friend before Faye was born! Admittedly I’m trying to decode this question a bit here: If I found these blocks locally, I would love to support the small business selling them! I use Amazon affiliate links as a way to subsidize the costs of running this blog (and I certainly sometimes purchase things through Amazon myself).
