five little things that made my week.
1. this shampoo.
{giving something new a try. so far so sweet.}
2. this shriveled radish.
{because better to have tried and failed…}
3. this tile grout.
{because sometimes you just can’t wait for the super to fix something.}
4. this hibiscus tea.
{because it’s gonna turn deep pink, but i love this early stage best of all.}
5. this pillow.
{same very old case, new spot.}
other things:
a hundred times the difference.
a pouch for organizing dreams.
these words from my sister just about broke my heart.
(and a newsletter with a special treat going out this afternoon!)

Ha :))), radishes like a curious mouse.
I loved the post by your sister it was so sweet and hopeful.
The Kids in Nature Instagram does NOT help my baby fever. So sweet!
Cold Spring Apothecary! That’s my neck of the woods- love that place. 🙂
Hi Erin, I am super stoked about your post on girlfriend! They have an awesome mission statement from an environmental and social justice perspective. The company mentions that they source recycled polyester from Taiwan, which is where much of my extended family lives! It definitely is a country that heavily promotes recycling, and I even volunteer locally in the US with the Northern California branch of the nonprofit that the company mentions in its article (Tzu Chi), though I mostly participate in its local food bank and native habitat restoration partnerships. One of its missions is to promote environmentalism through making recycling a lifestyle commitment. What’s cool is that they have also repurposed recycled polyester to make and donate soft blankets during disaster relief efforts around the world) and also view it as a way to bring the community together. There are many elderly folks, including septuagenarians and octogenarians, in Taiwan who help with sorting recycling because it makes them feel less lonely and helps them to pass time with friends and feel meaning in their contributions.
Anyhow, super cool to see this link and thank you!
I thought the girlfriend collective activewear looked amazing too, but I was sad to see they use recycled water bottles to make their fabric. Apparently, this is an environmental disaster: http://storyofstuff.org/movies/story-of-microfibers/
Not sure if there is a perfect option for activewear fabric though…I loved your other link, Erin, on Fibershed! Thanks for alerting me to that.
Yes! Fibershed is terrific, isn’t it? Regarding the bottles and the athletic wear, yes. It’s all so very complicated and I’m afraid perfection is something we’ve all still yet to find.
don’t feel so bad about my tiny radish. first time this year i tried my hand at gardening. lettuce good, spinach good, sugar snap peas HOLY COW, TONS. Carrot’s, cucumbers to be determined. Just like the cubs…always next year. 🙂
Haha! There’s just not enough light on our little north facing window! And then there’s that week away without watering…
Fibershed! A personal favourite. So up your ally, I was wondering when I might see them here.
I love hibiscus tea! It’s like getting jamaica from a good Mexican restaurant, but not so icky-sweet.
This post actually made my day! Creative, enjoyable, simple. It reminded me of the book “A Thousand Blessings.” What a great reminder to love the little things in life.
So… I know it’s been weeks since you posted this, but I have to say, “this shampoo” is great. I read this after a month in China, and so I bought it and some other products. My very fine, very dry hair is slowly being restored. Thanks for the link!
