five little things that made my week.
1. this bag.
{because i generally have pretty strong feelings about totes that wend their way into my house, but this one has provided so much good cheer.}
2. these these wall decorations.
{for bringing a bit of sunshine inside.}
3. this in-progress project.
{because we found a chifferobe on the street last weekend. forever in love with free furniture, no matter how much TLC it needs.}
4. these tulips.
{because i had to buy them for a photo shoot. no complaints.}
5. this brush.
{because i had to upgrade my imaginary painters’ game. couldn’t wrest silas’s out of his hand for the shot.}
other things:
for before, during, and after.

I totally recommend the cargo bike if you can afford it. We got a lot of miles out of ours when the kids were littler and now that they’re too big to ride it, I still use for grocery runs and hauling other things around the neighborhood. Be prepared for the constant questioning about how much it cost though. People would balk at the price until I pointed out that A) it was less than most cars B) it doesn’t require gas or insurance and C) we used it in place of a car. Funny how no one questions the cost of a car but a bike is seen as an extravagance.
Yes, fascinating! We’re also thinking of looking into secondhand options! So glad you’ve loved yours!
Love the washi tape!
Also, wanted to ask you about baby baths. My husband and I only have standing showers in our space. Any recommendation for bath time with baby? Was looking into the Puj Tub, but wanted to know how you and others felt.
Hi Rachel! We never used a baby bath, so I can’t recommend anything from personal experience. The Puj Tub looks appealing, but also like something that might only be usable for a very short while? Good luck in your hunt!
We have a bathtub, but I’ve often just held my baby in the shower (my partner would pass them in for a couple minutes at the start of my shower and then I’d pass them back out to be diapered, etc. Pretty convenient actually 🙂 Good luck!
Yes! This has always been our method, too. …Still is!
I held mine in the shower with me but as soon as she was sitting up I used this big basin: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B000AS28R0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I used it in the bathtub so she could hold onto the sides and it used less water. Now I keep it above the fridge and it’s great for soaking clothes or letting the kids “wash” their toys in water.
We had a puj with our first and it was fine, but didn’t blow my mind. Then for our second we got an enamel basin and lined it with a towel and made sure everything we needed was already lined up because we wouldn’t be able to let go of her (you can get a washcloth glove for more security). But the enamel basin worked until she was ready to go into the big tub, instead of being useless after a couple of months, and now we use it for all kinds of things – as a sensory bin, a wash tub for hand wash items, a camping sink, etc. But it’s always a nervous time with your first – maybe you could borrow a baby tub or get one secondhand and see how you like it?
Thanks Erin!! I saw our tote on your stories recently in a reflection. Made my day! Glad you’re enjoying it! xo Liz
That blue spotty fabric is so cute! Where’s it from?
I got it from Brooklyn General Store! Will have to check on the name and report back!
Thank you so much for sharing Doree Shafrir’s piece – I loved it. I’ve lost several pregnancies since we started trying 2.5 years ago – starting our first IVF cycle next week, and we’re hopeful, but of course there’s no guarantee it’ll work. I don’t feel like an infertility warrior either – it’s just hard, and you just keep going. Much appreciation for including this in your round-up, and thanks for writing your beautiful, thoughtful blog – always a joy to read!
I just like to say chifferobe. CHIFFEROBE. CHIFFFFEROOOOOOBE.
