I’ve worn this shirt every weekend, all weekend, for the past three weeks. It’s a shirt for living in. It’s thick and sturdy and loose enough under the arms that it doesn’t feel constrictive and it doesn’t make me sweaty and uncomfortable. But it’s not so loose that it’s frumpy or boxy. Being able to unbutton the top buttons ups the sex appeal, in case that’s something you’re after.
If I sound fussy about t-shirts, that’s because I am. And this one fit the bill. I don’t regularly post sponsored content, but this shirt is made by a company that I’m proud to align myself with. Based in San Francisco and run by husband and wife team, Jeremy and Sadie, Tradlands is committed to making women’s clothing inspired by designs typically found in the men’s section. All of their shirts are designed and sewn right in San Francisco. And while I haven’t held their line of button-ups in my own hands, I can vouch that the henley they sent my way is pretty near perfect.
Made from 55% hemp and 45% organic cotton sourced in the USA, the shirt isn’t fabric-softener soft, which endeared it to me all the more. It feels like something that will actually last through the wash. And it has.
For the next week, Tradlands has been kind enough to offer Reading My Tea Leaves readers a 15% discount on their orders. Enter the code tealeaves15 when you make your purchase. Xo.
PS. In case it helps, I’m wearing a size XS in these photos.
PPS. James Casey was the patient photographer/huzband.
PPPS. As always, thanks so much for supporting the companies that keep this space afloat (More of them over on that sidebar–>).

Comfortable and cute? Sounds like my kind of shirt. I wonder if they ship to France…

I had their button-ups on my wishlist but now i'm adding this shirt. Been looking for a great henley. I love the way you styled it, can I ask who makes the hat? so cute!

love the shirt but where did you get the winter hat from… love your blog…
Hi there: my hat is made by Goorin: http://www.goorin.com/goorin-everyday/high-camp
That looks like a perfect shirt for me: made from hemp, blue, cute and comfortable!
It's a cute top, but $87 for a henley t-shirt? Yikes! Too steep for me.
Hi Claudia: As someone with a very small budget for clothes (and everything else), I appreciate your sticker shock. For myself, I've decided that I'd rather have one of a very special thing than many of something that won't last through multiple washes. I totally understand that that's not a choice everyone is able to make, but thought I'd divulge the full story of my very tiny wardrobe for reference. Thanks for reading!
Just returning to this post having purchased a Tradlands shirt tonight! Erin, I wonder if you could post at some point about your small budget wardrobe choices. I'm slowly beginning to collect ethically-made but more expensive pieces, and I think a lot of people could benefit from your perspective since you have such a beautiful space in which to share it. Just a thought!
Hi Erin, I love the shirt!! My only question for you is are you typically a size SX? I always find it hard buying some things online, not knowing the true size. I know they give their sizing but I am I between S and Med. Sometimes it is better to go to the smaller size. Thanks so much. Libby
Hi there, Yes! I'm normally an XS and the Tradlands shirt fit perfectly!
Ooo I really would love to get my hands on their stuff.
