Pink spring blossoms again? Well. It’s gonna be flowers and sunshine from here on out, so get ready. James and I have decided to officially come out from hibernation along with the trees. We’re even on a kick of getting together with nearby friends whom we haven’t seen since the weather turned nasty…oh, six months ago. If we haven’t raised a glass with you yet, it’s coming. Consider yourselves warned. This weekend we made impromptu plans with old & new friends, had brunch with Mildred, ran the usual errands, did the usual housework and generally enjoyed the idea that it wasn’t the work week (per se) and there were flowers on the trees. There’s nothing like New York in the springtime, and there’s nothing like Gramercy for showing off the best the city has to offer. After brunch near Stuy Town, we tooled around the neighborhood, drank too-strong iced coffee, let our noses get a tiny bit sunburned, and pretended like we had keys to the park that we were just deciding not to use. Lately I’ve been utterly preoccupied with the idea of having our own little outdoor spot to dine (more daydreaming here), so we took advantage of our walk to do some gawking and drooling over other people’s spaces.
We’re just doing our best to soak it all in these days. What about you? What are your weekends looking like lately?
{ps. i’m finally admitting that google reader is going away and giving bloglovin a test run. you can follow my blog with bloglovin, too, if it suits you.}

Love that second to last picture…
Weekends are gold for us! We used to always go out and "do" something, but now, a casual dinner and movie in sweat pants with friends is exactly the kind of thing we want. Now that the weather is getting warmer, I'm sure we will move the merriment outside. Thanks for sharing!
I, too, have recently been obsessed with the idea of having an outdoor dining space. For our wedding, my husband and I were gifted these beautiful vintage outdoor chairs (that also double as rocking chairs!) and I'm so bummed we don't have anywhere to put them yet. Someday!
Long time reader of your blog, Erin. Such a pleasant place to spend some time. xo
Oh, I think I know just the kind you mean, Roxanne! One day! So glad to hear that you've been enjoying this space! xo.
That red building is just gorgeous. We spent most of our Sunday outside at a local lake. Its big enough that when the wind blows, it has waves like an ocean. So, after a long run, we relaxed on the "beach" and watched sailboats and soaked in the sun. It was exactly what we needed. š
That sounds perfect!
Beautiful shots! Spring is finally here. š Lately, our weekends have involved one day of hanging out with friends and another of quiet, laundry, and naps. It's wonderful!
I was walking around Gramercy two weeks ago and I was just hoping it would warm up!! So happy to hear that the trees are blooming and the sun is shining! I went for a long walk this weekend and just enjoyed the sun beaming down! =)

I've been using bloglovin to follow your blog for a while. It works great. For some reason, some of the blogs I follow can't be followed/retrieved by bloglovin. I'm not sure why, but if you see your #s drop for no reason, make sure this hasn't happened to your blog.
Just FYI: Since the disappointing news about the departure of Google Reader, I've been following you and all of my faves on Bloglines — and I like the organization even better than Reader. It's like getting all of my favorite blogs in the equivalent of my email inbox.
I love all the little details in these photos. Beautiful scenes from the city!
Bloglovin is definitely the way to go. I've had no trouble whatsoever!
I have been busy potting flowering plants to adorn our tiny balcony. š
I can't wait for the weather to get warmer so we can dine outside.
These pics are all lovely and so spring like! š
My weekend have been a bit too busy for my taste! I'd love to just float around the house, the garden and the woods in the sunshine. Soon I hope! These photographs are just wonderful and cheer me up š
Beautiful photos <3 x
I love those plates with the menus printed on them; they're so pretty! And I'd love to have my own balcony too, although I'd have to get a new apartment, seeing as how my apartment looks out on the building's parking lot and other apartments across the way. But I think it'd be great to have a balcony where I could eat my meals and write in my journal.
These pictures are so beautiful. All these snaps of blossoms on Twitter and blogs is killing me. I wish to return to NYC now! x
Those blossoms look gorgeous – I wish I could visit NYC right now, especially since we're still getting snow in Calgary(around 10 cm fell on Sunday >_<).
Gorgeous images. Love spring – it's even making an appearance here in England's blustery North West š
The red bricks with white blossoms are stunning, great shot!
I work in Flatiron and most days, instead of walking to Union Square to catch the L I'll walk all the way to 1st Ave. Going through Gramercy is my absolute favorite. That park is so wonderful. I actually saw the gates open one day but I was too wimpy to go through!
Spring is my favorite season and the first picture is just so pretty! We are currently having short, grey autumn days here now in Australia and I am eaglery awaiting spring… In like 6 months…
This is so beautiful:)! And finally, one can have picnics with friends in the park again, walking barefoot through the gras, sharing homemade recipes, listening to some guitar music – I was so longing for this! Have a nice day and enjoy the sun:)
Beautiful!
These photos are beautiful! I'm so excited that I'm going to actually be in NYC in less than a week. Can. Not. Wait.
