this time of year my impulse to snuggle up under a blanket is markedly greater than any impulse to get out in the world and explore. but braving the icy winds for a winters walk on the beach at my parents house is something i really love: seeing all the summer homes buttoned up for the winter, the patches of snow in the sand, the necklace of pebbles and shell that marks the high tide. when i’m back in the city i have trouble finding the same motivation to explore. resolving now to put on my walking shoes a bit more often this winter. to get back out there and find something worthy of the effort.

Beautiful photos – it's sad how winter is so pretty and yet, it can make everyone feel so lazy!
Hope you find that something ♡
these pictures are amazing, so lovely! 🙂

lovely photos
Oh my, I definitely have been falling into that wintertime rut. Especially because Clara hates the cold more than anyone I know, and a miserable three year-old makes for a miserable mama. haha.
gorgeous photos! how calm and serene 🙂
I love the beach in the wintertime! On Christmas, my family went down to Pott's Point in Harpswell, ME and it was easily my favorite moment of the holiday! Your pictures are so lovely, erin!
great shots, erin! i understand the desire to stay under a warm blanket in the winter!
love your blog, will definitely be a permanent follower! 🙂
Beautiful photographs! I find it easier to get out when I'm outside the city too. I like that sense of being alone and I guess in the city, it always feels like I'm walking somewhere to spend money or meet people.
I'm inspired and off to find something worthy right now. Thanks.
these are such beautiful pictures! I love the beach 🙂

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has trouble with getting out, even when it's beautiful (but cold!) outside. That first shot is stunning.
Beautiful photos. I hope I can do it sometime, to walk in the sand at sunrise. Just like to feel the breeze and have some thought..apart from the noise of the city.
I love that last shot. And I know what you mean about having trouble finding motivation to walk in the city–just wrote about that myself!
LOVE this post, Erin. 🙂
