yesterday james and i had  the best donuts of our lives. we’d heard about britt’s donuts, but had never made the trip down to carolina beach during the right season to eat them. yesterday we took the drive and between us ate a half dozen of the most delicious morsels of fried dough and sugar we have ever had.
if you ever find yourself in southeastern north carolina between march and october head to the boardwalk at carolina beach and treat yourself. you will not be disappointed.DSCN5724

also, the trip will reward you with visions of funky old motels and colored lights.

I love those towns that make you feel like you just stepped into the past, or at least an episode of Twin Peaks.
