there is something about the aesthetic of hanging laundry that i’ve always loved. during my travels in france and italy, i couldn’t help but to snap photographs every time i passed a line of laundry strung between century old buildings. you can imagine my delight then upon finding these photographs of an installment by latvian environmental artist, laura feldberga. read more about her here.

really want to figure out a way to rig a clothesline in my new backyard…won't look as beautiful as those photos though!
Those are gorgeous photos! I love hanging towels outdoors. xo
One of my favorite things about summertime – hanging laundry out to dry! And the way the breeze moves it so every peacefully…makes me so happy!
Certainly one of my favourite sights!
Beautiful! …and, icing on the cake, my father's family is from Latvia. Thanks!
hanging laundry just seems so European to me. and i can imagine the little old ladies working hard and hanging every towel with love and care.
This is unbelievably cool. What a great idea! To do a permanent, all-weather laundry line installation in your own backyard. Oh the possibilities!
So pretty. They really do remind me of clotheslines in Italy. The fact that these are so sheer is just beautiful.
oh, this is great! it's one of those things i resonate with so much i find myself thinking, "why didn't i think of that?!"
