neon signs.
*a little note from victoria: Many thanks to Erin for inviting me to share a bit of downtown San Francisco. I’m Victoria Smith of sfgirlbybay.com, a blog about vintage-modern design, interiors, art and photography. I love my city by the bay and I’m happy to share it with you. Most of San Francisco is a big city, broken up into many diverse neighborhoods, and today I focused on our downtown Chinatown. I love the wonderful old neon signs, advertising everything from dive bars, to hardware, to shoes. Here’s a peek at San Francisco’s Chinatown. {thank you, victoria}!

gorgeous! i love seeing others cities' chinatowns … each one seems to have such a distinct flavor.
Very cool, love old neon. I'm going to try and do mine this weekend (if the jerky weather permits).
A city I always love to visit, an exquisite look at Chinatown's charm.
how awesome! i love the pics – such great colours!
These are beautiful! I am going to SF in a few weeks and cannot WAIT!
I love the unlit neon signs, there's so much to them. Gorgeous photos!
What a fun series!

these are great—i love the old neon signs in sf's chinoistown! love victoria's persepctive…love your series 😉
I recently visited SF and it was a pretty fascinating place to say the least. I walked through Chinatown and it was very unique. I love the pictures posted here. They capture that place in a way that you wouldn't normally see it. I dig.
erin I love this series! awesome idea!
i just found your great little blog via simple lovely… what an awesome series.
there is just something about san francisco…
i will definitely be checking in often!
I have been to San Fran's Chinatown a few times but I would love to go back. I think every time I go I discover something new. I just love soaking in all the sights and smells and popping into the little shops. last time I was there I bought a little lipstick holder and kiss lock clutch. so cute. next time I go I'll have to remember to check out all the different neon signs.
I just rode the bus through Chinatown this afternoon… It was great seeing the neighborhood, I haven't been for a while. There are so many little places in San Francisco which are all so different from each other, you can get stuck in the same couple neighborhoods sometimes.
Thanks for the reminder to 'get out' more! 🙂
what perfect snaps of the chinatown. very cool! neon signs are some of my favorite subjects.
Brilliant pics… I love these 🙂
it's fun to see my downtown (chinatown) being represented here. i'm in some part of san francisco's chinatown almost everyday because my neighborhood is quite close.
