five little things that made my week.*
*special this week: a little collection of things from our lovely apartment that have brightened my days, not only this week, but every week, for all the weeks that we have lived here.
1. the garden.
{because our landlord maintains it in beautiful shades of white and purple. and its height is perfectly unruly}.
2. our front door.
{because if there’s a prettier door to come home to, i’ve yet to find it}.
3. little gifts.
{sometimes flowers, clipped from the garden and brought inside by our landlord. sometimes a little bowl of chocolates. the perfect touch of sweetness after a long day}.
4. a stained glass window.
{because passing it on my way to bring out the recycling makes the task so much more enjoyable}.
5. the banana tree.
{because its resiliency each season reminds me to stay tough}.
what little something made your week?
{also being made blog of week over at naturally nina…thanks, nina}!

Oh, that door..! And I see why for all those reasons (and not just the door – heh), you'll miss your place in NC… freshly-cut flowers and chocolates? Wow. Maybe James will have to step up and take over those duties in the new place. I can't wait to see photos of the apartment in RI – I'm sure it'll be great!

You have such a beautiful place in Wilmington, Erin! It makes me think about moving to NC at some point! Everything just seems so much prettier down there. I wish you all the best with your move. Though it's so sad to leave your gorgeous place, you will always have the memory of living in such glory! Have a lovely weekend!
What a great place. I can see why you are sad to leave it, that door alone is reason enough to rent that place.
But now on to new beginnings, friend!
oh you must be so sad to be leaving. 🙁 i love that door too!
p.s. you're up on my blog. so happy to have you.
Beautiful images! I especially love the stained glass. Thanks for sharing.
What a gorgeous place. You will be so resilient and make your new space positively lovely, I am sure. Wishing you a wonderful weekend. My week is being made by Don whisking me away to Greenville, SC tonight and by Bella's snuggling more than ever with me this week because she seems to be a little more cuddly when she is teething. (poor thing) xoxo
Aw, it's tough to leave a place you adore – especially if you have a nice landlord to boot!
Getting more work made my week. It's not a fun thing, but it's something I really needed. Congrats on being blog of the week on Nina's lovely blog 🙂
Leaving a beautiful place is so hard to do, but you will make your little life wonderful wherever you are.
those flowers are amazing. you must have a great landlord!
The door and stained glass are absolutely delicious.
No wonder you're sad to leave this place! It looks just lovely. What a nice little hommage to your last home.
I hope you're able to find loveliness in your new place, too!

My heart also shares a special penchant for pretty doors! Lovely weekend to you…
it looks like such a loved place. i can see why you feel sad to leave it. enjoy your weekend!
LOVE the purple and white unruly garden! Your door is wonderful too. Have you ever been to San Miguel de Allende? There are so many lovely doors there. My week was made by a visit to the SFMOMA rooftop garden, I even like the feel of the garden walls…
LOVE the front door.
your landlord keeps the flowers up?! that's amazing. ours has to be begged to do something with all the weeds:(
your apartment is lovely! that door is simply stunning and same goes for the gorgeous stained glass window. and how sweet is your landlord!?
