my week in objects (mostly).

January 15, 2010
five little things that made my week.

1. this paper chain.
paperchain
{because it adds a punch of color to a very white wall}.

2. these yellow sheets.yellow
{because they are new to me from my sister with the good sense to have a new bed that’s actually large enough for two}.

3. these grey pillows.felt
{because i made them from a favorite dress, accidentally felted}.

4. this drain.drain
{because even though it might not look like much, believe me, it’s a vast improvement from what we used to have}.

5. this sweet cloth.curtain
{because even though james told me it looks like a rag (the nerve), i still love him, and now i have a kitchen curtain}.

what little something made your week?

Oh that sweet drain, to have a bath is a wonderful thing.

Hermie munching on his breakfast in the quiet of the morning made my week, I love that little guy.

That pillow is gorgeous! What a talent you are! Did you use a sewing machine? A visit to NYC to see good friends is making my week!

your little curtain is so adorable and the pillows you made from your dress has awesome pleated detail. I really love it.

some things that made my week were the slightly warmer temperature we've been having (45 from 30s is very drastic). and the boyfriend driving out after work to see me (we live+work 45m-1h away so it's tough to see each other during the week).

thanks for all the sweet notes, friends. i knew james must be wrong about that little bit of vintage goodness! as for the pillows…they are most definitely sewn by hand, and none too neatly. but they'll do! happy friday!

Ohhhh. Great objects this week. I am digging the paper chain in a major way. I may jump on that band wagon. I have a lot of empty walls in my place and I'm looking for cute and cheap fillers. I'm definitely doing some bunting but I love this idea.

    Happy weekend, pal.

The pillow you made looks so soft and pretty! Enjoying a fresh loaf of French bread with real butter made my week — ah, it's the simple things in life, isn't it?

    Happy weekend!

and I do know the importance of a clean drain. in fact, mine needs some serious cleaning this weekend!

a pretty display of passing clouds in the sky made my week… you can see a few photos on my blog, if you'd like.

So sorry about your dress, but the pillow is lovely.

Squeezing my own grapefruit juice this morning was a little something that made my week feel special.

I love these little snippets of your home (and town, of course). One of these days I'll get my act together and show you mine. That sounded funny… 😉

PS Love a paper chain! I haven't done one of those in about 25 years. Devon made my week this week, as she has every week since she's been born.
