Wild "weed" flowers on the nature strip. Love them – everything is green and there are little daisies and buttercups on the grass. sigh.

I made my first fruit pie of the season (rhubarb from a local farm!) last night … we ate it with the windows open and the warm breeze…

YUM! I finally found a rhubarb plant that will actually grow in our yard. Now to get the slugs or whatever is eating our strawberries to stop and we could make some jam like yours too. Seeing hummingbirds for the first time is my favorite sign of early summer. xo

    Signs of early summer?

I sometimes feel that we don't have early summer. It seems like it goes from late winter to summer with a very short spring.

Anyways, I would have to say that signs of early summer include when my neighbourhood is entirely green not of bare trees, having my first slice of rhubarb-strawberry pie, and having my sunroof open.

barefoot. all the time and not having cold toes anymore. finally packing the wool socks away and shaking out the cotton skirts.

Went swimming at Walden Pond yesterday, got a sunburn, and had a huge rootbeer float! 85 degrees in May is a good sign summer is coming.
