my week in objects (mostly).

July 1, 2010
five little things that made my week.
1. this train window.train_window
{because even though getting rides back into the city is awfully nice, this window offers a pretty spectacular view of the hudson}.
2. these test tubes.test_tubes
{because they make perfect little flower vases}.
3. this cookie.nutella
{because it’s not one cookie. but two. with nutella in between}.
4. this barbed wire.barbedwire
{because it’s pretty cheery, as barbed wire goes}.
5. this glass.balljar
{because water with lemon and mint was just about the only thing that could make this week tolerable}.
and tonight, birthday candles. because it’s my birthday. just saying.

Yes! I've been missing my week in objects. I love this series. Happy birthday to you. The barbed wire is the best I've seen. If you must have barbed wire, this is the set-up. A few objects have felt special to me lately. A lemon in a small white bowl. A hopeful stem in a Mason jar of water. A couple of books resting on my table, The Apple Trees at Olema by Robert Haas and Excellent Women by Barbara Pym. Enjoy your celebration this eve.

Hey there! I've only just discovered your blog today, so I wanted to tell you how much I've enjoyed it! New York is a place I've always wanted to visit, but it's not an easy task as I live in Australia. You've transported me today with your beautiful photos though, so to that I want to say thank you and keep sharing – i will be looking forward to more posts!

    Happy belated birthday too!
