my week in objects (mostly).

September 3, 2010
1. this thin cotton sheet.bedspread{because it is thin enough to keep on the bed without suffocating both of us. and because i’m a firm believer that no matter the heat, a bed should always be dressed}.

2. this little clipping.jade{because i like the way it sits in its big bath of water}.

3. this basil.basil{because i’ve been taking clippings from it all week. and because summer is not quite over so long as there’s basil}.

4. these candles.candles
{because even though by day they are nothing great to look at, they’ve made the past few evenings on the patio delightful}.

5. this honeysuckle.honeysuckle
{because it just smells so darn sweet}.

what little something made your week?

Love the tapestry on your bed. It reminds me of this big patterned cloth I lugged around to at least ten different apartments and found different ways to use it in each one (wall hanging, bedspread, makeshift chair cover).Timeless and lovely, much like these photographs.

I came across your blog and I love it!!! I love the basil photo… I took some clippings of my basil (because I was stupid enough not to make time to harvest it and make yummy pesto, so it went bitter on me) and I put them in a jar and they all sprouted roots within a week! I'm planting them in little biodegradable pots I found at whole foods and I'm planning on growing them inside this winter!!!

Ahh the honeysuckle! I finished a good book this weekend. It's always bittersweet for me and now I keep dreaming about the characters. I love when stories get under my skin and into my subconscious like that.

A pair of black lace up shoes that I thought would surely be too warm for 95 degree weather made my week. They surprised me by keeping my feet from getting blisters (something the flips failed me on) and by actually keeping me cool!

Your week in objects always seem to brighten my week! I love that cotton sheet. The orange and pink curtains in my doctor's office did bring a smile to my face and warmed my heart. You can see a picture on my blog if you're interested. http://asimplebreath.blogspot.com/2010/09/list-ten-blog-posts-that-have-inspired.html
