my week in objects (mostly).

July 25, 2011

just a little late: five things that made my week.

1. these plums.
plums {for reminding me that summertime might bring extreme heat waves, but it also brings fresh fruit}.

2. these cardoon flowers.
cardoon {for being so other-worldly. and adding a little spunk to the old apartment}.

3. this grainy photo.
bike {because i finally brought my bike to new york. so grainy photo or not, i needed to document my inaugural ride}.

4. this weather report.
weather {because even if only for a night, it showed a drop in temperatures. welcome relief}.

5. this coffee.
coffee {because james was able to share a cup with me on a ‘saturday’ morning that to the rest of the world was a monday}.

what little something made your week?

I've had a best friend in my house with me for 11 days. When she leaves, I'll feel amputated….but love is always worth it. Love just feels so good.

I want to reach through the screen and take that coffee from you.

That is such a beautiful photo of the city – and you. Even though I don't know you I can tell from your face you are one happy girl – lovely to see…happy mid-summer.

My week(end)? Making plum jam, and today, designing a simple label :^)

I love that photo of you with your bike!

The little something that made my week was the birth of my friend's baby last night! He's tiny and amazingly cute.

That coffee is looking fabulous and I'm loving that biking picture. I'm always a big fan of grainy photos, I think they add character!

The picture of the coffee actually has made me get up and put the water on to boil.

It is freezing here in Sydney, Aus so I would happily swap for your heatwave right now πŸ˜€

What made my week: certainly not the terrorist massacring 68 kids at the labour party camp on the island UtΓΈya in Norway. And not the bomb that the same terrorist placed beside the government building that killed 8 people.

But the roses that the Norwegian people answer terror, hate & violence with. The democracy that the Norwegians promote more than ever, and the ocean of love flowing through the streets of Oslo. No revenge, no hatred. Light kills dark, love kills hate.
