in between picking up champagne and cornichons for our new year’s eve festivities, james and i popped into neighborhood shop, holler & squall. it was as lovely inside as the view into its windows suggested and i’m currently coveting woolly blankets and the warm glow from wee vintage lamps. yes, even more than usual.

other things:
* a quirky source for edison bulbs in nyc.
* a smirky article on edison bulbs in nyc.
* more woolly blankets.
* and this gorgeous sweater. because.

    I was just there on January 1st! It was my first time ever in Brooklyn, and unfortunately we got there a bit too late and the shop was closed. I stood at the window like a British street urchin, with my nose pressed up against it, trying to get a peek at all the wonders within. To help me get over my disappointment, the bf took me to BookCourt instead! I will definitely make a point to go back there.

    @rebecca sorry you missed it, but a trip to book court isn't too bad, either!

    oooh…love that sweet pharmacy lamp…and the desk calendar…
    and yeah! MacAusland!!
    love old light bulbs, esp the wee flowered nightlight from my childhood bedroom, the tiny red lantern I saved from the Belgium pavilion World's Fair NYC 1964, and the whole ancient bulb I found buried in our meadow…
