my week in objects (mostly).

July 13, 2012

five little things that made my week.

1. these beans.
beans
{because they were fresh and skinny and still fuzzy from being just-picked}.

2. this article.
post
{and the others like it. it’s a wild time for life in this tiny apartment}.

3. this queen anne’s lace.
queenanneslace
{because it’s my favorite and a favorite of empty lots, which means flowers for me}.

4. this pasta maker.
pastamaker
{because carrie used it to make us white bean stuffed tortellini. so good}.

5. this big screen.
movie
{because when you can watch movies with that view as a backdrop, i say life is pretty grand indeed}.

other things:
these gorgeous bangles.
issue three is out. can’t wait to get my hands on it.
favorite tattly set yet. 50% off through sunday!
these sound wonderful. i’d be tempted to triple the blackberries.

Ahh! That outdoor movie looks like such a fun thing to do in the evening, you can't beat that view. My downtown has an outdoor movie too, but I still haven't gotten around to going. I really should.

But how exciting is that to have a feature in the paper?! Congrats on your success!

we get a similar backdrop of midtown all the way to the financial district when we go to movies in the park in hoboken šŸ˜€

i used to think drive-in movies were cool, but movies in the park with manhattan in the background TOTALLY top it!!

    cheers!

Congratulations on your success by being in the paper! You are quite the inspiring person to be honest. I just read an article about your apartment on yahoo and I personally agree that that is a much finer and eloquent way to live, rather than having a $2 million mansion. As far as your pictures go, they are very tasteful and I enjoy seeing that such simple things, such as flowers found in empty lots, can make your week. This blog is the most inspiring thing I have seen in weeks, if not months, and it definitely put things into perspective for me. I look forwarded to reading through your content weekly to look at the world how you have, in a more simple and easy-going way. The second I saw that you had a blog, while reading the article about your home, i clicked the link and bookmarked it before even finishing the article. Please keep living life the way you are, I hope to do the same one day.
    Sincerely, Andy Paro

So so lovely to meet you last night! You and James are delightful–after parting ways, Tiho said, "They are cool and normal" (ha, a compliment, I promise!). And I agree šŸ™‚

Hope to see you around again at another Thursday movie night.

Love those things – I made pasta for the first time last week! My mother-in-law taught us how to make it and now she is going to give us her spare pasta maker. Yep, the woman has two pasta makers. I'm a lucky daughter-in-law.

I moved into a roughly 300 sqft apartment last week, and as a fellow lover of minimalist living, I was truly lucky to find your blog the other day. It's safe to say it will forever be open in a tab on my laptop (at least until I make it through all of your archived posts!). Thank you for the beautiful inspiration.

I love Queen Anne's lace (and your blog) I have a rather large tattoo of it! I've just left from visiting New York and I was shovked to see so much of it in Brooklyn!
