make-believe: care package.

September 27, 2012
Giving a care package has to be almost as nice as receiving one–carefully selecting just the right combination of goodies that you know will brighten someone else’s day. It’s a bit Pollyanna-ish, I know, but I have a soft spot for that rainbow-finding girl. I like to give comestibles and things that can otherwise be used and used up, but it’s nice to include a thing or two that helps someone pass along a little cheer to someone else. In this make-believe case, it’d be wildflower seed bombs for my Asheville-dwelling sisters and a rubber stamp for making the next package. And then there’s that dishtowel. For me, pretty dishtowels, like pretty underwear, are always a welcome treat. Just a little something to make things feel fresh and new. I think even Aunt Polly would approve.

Such a lovely idea, bits that you wouldn't necessarily buy for yourself are always so nice to receive! x

with so many far away friends getting engaged lately, i've been having fun sending a little something to pamper the bride-to-be. real simple wedding magazines, a pretty essie polish, bath salts, a fancy chocolate…and a tea towel would be a lovely inclusion!

Care packages are a lovely thing for sender and recipient. They certainly give a person something to feel glad about ;).My best friend still has the label from the one I sent her in her first week of uni, 13 years ago.

Love making and receiving care packages. I'm currently making one for my sister in law who just started college. Your selections are lovely, but for her I'm thinking I'd better give her what she really wants: colorful stationary, sweets and her favorite minty face mask to kill the resulting zits. Love the seed bombs, though!

I love sending care packages. I mostly send them to my best friend, who is a starving artist in Brooklyn. Usually sour punch straws, some clothes my 15 year old isn't wearing anymore (they wear the same size) a new pair of fun socks, a book and a mix CD. I should start incorporating some more skin care goodness.

My favorite is the tea towel, and those cookies look good too. Care packages are nice, especially ones with carefully chosen items like this one; they are thoughtful gifts.
