We've been using Binchotan charcoal sticks in a glass water dispenser in our fridge in lieu of a plastic Brita pitcher. It works perfectly and they've lasted a lot longer than anticipated (almost of year using the same ones, just boil for 5-10 mins to "reset" absorption power).

I liked the tea pot.
Fill us in about that charcoal. My aunt and uncle swear by it but I find it makes the yummy NY water taste grainy.
