oooh i love this post. I really loved the article please don’t be awkward about it. I remember staring as a child, and I can’t wait to have kids of my own someday to use those opportunities to guide them!

Thank you so much for sharing the article for trans visibility! Kids are capable of so much love and acceptance for the world around them, if given the chance. Adults should be learning from them.

Love the please don’t be awkward. Always looking for ways to teach acceptance and ways to celebrate difference. Sometimes I need the words and need the examples.

Also love the twilight sleep podcast. As a former historian, and a birth doula, and a mom, I’ve always found the history of childbirth fascinating, sad, scary, profound. Scopolamine it’s hard to wrap my modern brain around the idea that this could ever be a feminist idea, but fear about birth is and always has been enormous.
For those interested in more info, the film The Business of Being Born shows the reality of twilight sleep. There are several scenes that are disturbing.

We all need to read the “Please Don’t be Awkward…” At least I did. I would not have known what to say, and I too, would have been awkward. Still might, but I’ll know better and do better now. It really is sometimes hard to think of the right thing to say on the spot. This gives me a chance to be prepared. Thanks!
