my week in objects (mostly).

January 18, 2019

1. this steam from a borrowed humidifier.

{for helping me breathe just a little easier.}

2. these flowers.

{for getting to play with them and getting to gift them.}

3. these bobby pins.

{and requests for heidi braids from faye.}

4. this flower frog.

{for salvaging even the tiniest stems.}

5. this blanket stack.

{for fitting perfectly into the linen closet.}

other things:

niceness…is fleeting, hollow and performative.

classic of the genre.

desirable debris.

if i had a car, i would.

it goes back to who gets to interpret the text. (tw: sexual assault.)

i got saved by the beauty of the world.

that dream was a colorblind one.

blackout for human rights.

upcycle atelier.

candlelight x2.

    Hi! I am a huge fan of your weekly roundups and the links that appear at the bottom, but I’m wondering if you could indicate which links lead to sites with a paywall / that count how many free articles one can read before they cut you off (like the New Yorker or the NYT). Thanks!

      Hey there! If you hover over the link it should appear in the lower left hand side of your browser that will let you see where it’s going!

      On my Google pixel phone, if I just hold the link, the web address pops up. I too would love to see the source just listed in the link though, because sometimes I forget. My library now has a service, where, if you enter from the library’s site, you can look for free, without limits. You can’t just go from here though. But might check your library for that.

      I’d love to see,
      From the New Yorker, a way to simplify
      From Smiiten Kitchen, soup to warm up winter
      Etc.

    Hello Erin!

    I’ve been reading your blog for years now and was wondering if there was ever a specific diffuser for essential oils that you have mentioned in the blog? I attempted looking back but couldn’t find anything and wanted to ask. Thank you so much!

      Nope! I’ve never had a diffuser! I put drops of oil directly on my pillow or mixed into carrier oils etc!

    Hi Erin. Where is the beautiful blue blanket from?

    • Reply ERIN BOYLE January 20, 2019 at 7:52 pm

      It’s the underside of a quilt from Block Shop!

    Hi Erin,
    I was wondering what was driving traffic to my webshop and I had a tip from a customer that it was your blog. Thank you for featuring my candle holder! I’m really pleased that you like it.
    Best,
    Vivian
