1. this shell necklace.
{even if after stringing it, and restringing it, and restringing it once more, it was ultimately left behind.}
2. this sprout.
3. this candle.
{sent from a favorite candle companyand just what i needed to get through a rainy morning.}
4. this other shell necklace.
{because no way i was leaving it behind.}
5. this watering…jar.
{perfect for a tiny apartment and a tree pit that might just become a meadow.}

Pf candles are hands down the favorite candles i have ever tried!!!! Very pure and clean and the scents are intoxicating.
Where is your sweet little necklace from alongside the shell necklace?! Looks like maybe initial of your little ones.
“The Best $16 I Ever Spent” was not at all what I thought it would be, but so much better…candid, authentic, and beautifully written.
I want to permanently commit this part to memory: “It’s how I practice “hallelujah anyhow,” a core tenet of the black church that Van Jones describes as ‘the search for a kind of joy — not happiness — and the preservation of dignity and the connection to something sacred no matter how terrible the external circumstances.'”
First time coming across your blog and it feels so calming. This kind of post in particular is just made for a quiet Sunday with a cup of tea.

How do you put the holes through the shells? Do you have a drill with a tiny bit?
I do! But I’ve also used a tiny nail in the past! You break some, you win some!
I sent the “Best $16 I ever spent” essay to one of my best friends who is going through a brutal divorce. What an incredible example of turning pain into raw, real, beautiful, truthful art. Thanks for sharing, Erin.
