Arnica gel/cream is a lifesaver! I’ve used it so many times when I (inevitably) re-sprain an ankle.
You can mix essential oils (like tea tree) with water in a glass spray bottle and spray it on their hair in the morning before you comb it and that acts as a fairly effective lice preventative, I’ve found.
Yup! We do this, too! But sometimes those guys still weasel their way in.
Thank you for the Glamour link! I get the “no uterus, no opinion” argument, but I do think that it lets men off the hook way too much. It takes two to get pregnant! Why should women have to bear the medical, physical, emotional load of that all on their own? I also loved the discussion of this in “And Now We Have Everything”, which I first heard about here. 🙂 Thank you!!
Omg the lice bag just sent shivers down my spine! 🙂 The terminator is the best comb out there. My daughter caught it twice a few years ago. Terminator for the win!
OMG, the felting idea is genius! I am about to tackle my DIY felt costume and this will make the final product a lot more “magical”!!! Thank you as always!
I totally agree! It never would’ve crossed my mind to transform some felt masks that way, and the result is way cuter than anything you’d find at a shop.
We had a lice infestation last year. Four out of the 5 of us had lice, and a couple of us had it multiple times. The Pediatrician finally gave us a tip that was the only thing that worked. Take cetaphil cleanser and saturate your hair with it, to the point that it is dripping (could take almost the entire bottle). You do this while your hair is dry because lice hold their breath when they get wet. Comb out the excess cleanser. Then blow dry your hair. It takes a long time because your. hair is dripping with soap. But completely blow your hair dry and then go to bed. The next morning comb your hair again with the lice/nit comb. Then rinse, wash, and style as normal. Worked like a charm after trying several different things. And it’s not toxic.
Ha! Amazing. We do a similar thing except with olive oil (and minus the hair drying!). We seem to be nit and louse free for now, but will keep this in my back pocket.
i remember the perils of lice on long hair! also, i loved the mending post – i have a big pile of items awaiting colorful, obvious mends i’m hoping to tackle this fall. i was so sorry to hear about the negativity people feel comfortable relating to you regarding your pregnancy – wishing you a peaceful weekend 🙂
ps. i too love kits/they are great organizing tools: https://tps-steph.blogspot.com/2019/06/0039-simplifying.html
