Summertime in New England comes with a special kind of rejoicing. Even on the muggiest days, it’s hard not to be thankful that the sun’s shining and glinting off the water and maybe crisping up your shoulders. (Just a touch, not too much.)
Lately, I’ve been dreaming of a weekend trip, just for me and James. I’d soak up the smells of fried seafood and fresh blueberries and salt air all mixed in with sunscreen. Today marks our fourth wedding anniversary, so here’s to daydreaming about a getaway, just the two of us.
A few daydreamy things to extend the fantasy:
A pair of red shoes for propping on the dash.
A guide to New England for making sure we hit all the best spots.
A checkered sun dress for flouncing around in.
A market basket for filling with farmers’ market finds and flea market treasures.
A nod to the nautical life with this knot-shaped bangle.
A picnic blanket for beach-y breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and everything in between.
A pair of shades for staying incognito.
A handful of oyster crackers for staving off hunger between lobster rolls.

Happy anniversary, Erin and James! Here’s to that beachy weekend; I hope you can share one together soon. 🙂
Happy Anniversary! Sounds like the most perfect weekend…
Thank you!
Those shoes. I want to love them and be their best friend. But, alas – I cannot wear flat soled footwear. So sad…
Wildsam guides are the best. Happy anniversary!!
Thank you!
Ooooh, I love those oxfords. Have you worn this brand before, Erin?
I’ve never worn Zuzii shoes, but I’ve heard only wonderful things!
Yay New England! I leave California for a trip to Maine on Saturday…this post just got me even more pumped!
So glad! Enjoy your trip!
Oh Happy Anniversary Erin and James! Here the 4th wedding anniversary symbols are flowers and fruits. My sister I belive had a picnic with her husband to celebrate. This year they celebrated the 5th anniversary which is wood and we’ve send them gifts all made in wood (including two wood handamde maracas which was just for fun but since THEY are fun they loved it!).
Here’s to a beautiful year of yours filled with flowers and fruit, two things that I might say are very readingmytealeaves indeed 🙂
Thank you!
Happy belated anniversary! I am a long-time reader and remember distinctly when you got married because our anniversary is 8/6/12 (we got married on a Monday!). Crazy how time flies.
When I read the line “A pair of red shoes for propping on the dash”, I thought to myself (affectionately), oh that Erin with her fancy modern slang talk, I’ll have to Google that … then I slapped myself on the forehead.
Happy belated anniversary! This post is so cute, and I love the dress!
Thank you!
