(Even if it happens to be a not very snowy one. (Harumph!!!).)
Bake a cake. (If you haven’t already, pre-order this gem of a book so you have it ready for the next time.)
Reorganize your underwear drawer.
Teach yourself to finger knit.
(Lose your mind while juggling an apartment full of small kids, soupy slush outside, chaos inside, and work that can’t take a snow day. Movies help. So do early bedtimes.)

We just did a little Forest School class and made fairy houses out of stuff we found on the walk… also a totally great indoor activity.
Erin- as always, thanks for taking the time to compile these thoughtful and helpful posts. I love your book (I own it) and website. The Movies link caught my eye- I have a just turned three year old who is new to watching shows or movies. I neither expect or require a reply to this. But if you have the time and the bandwidth, I’d love it if you would share any recommendations for the few programs or movies you and your kiddos watch. So far, Mr. Rogers Neighborhood and the Snowy Day on Prime are really the only thing that’s made the cut. Slow is good for us right now. Especially with regards to screentime. Thank you very much in advance.
Ah! You’re not the only one curious about those movies! More coming very soon!
Where were you when my kids were little? Oh, wait, I know where you were, same place they were: home with Mom or Dad…. Those March snow days: especially frustrating because in New England, there was that week of vacation in February, when only the well-to-do families could afford ski or beach vacations, while the rest of us saved our vacation days for better weather. Thanks for the Simple Cake recommendation, because my birthday is this month and sometimes the best way to get a cake is to just make it yourself! Wishing spring weather soon for all of us!
What a lovely list! I especially think the avian valentines are adorable!
I love your lists. I always look the list on the bottom of your blog š
My girls, now 19 and almost 18, loved watching Little Bear https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0245637/
Very sweet show. They give me a hard time because I did not let them watch Sponge Bob.
