Tip #3: Find creative storage solutions.
do you know what this is?
it’s a surfboard. in a bathtub.
we keep our surfboard in our bathtub. all the time.
it’s made to withstand water, right? the jury’s still out on whether we’re geniuses or just plain disgusting. feel free to weigh in.

ha ha! well… as long as it doesn't fall on you i think it's brilliant.
LOVE IT!
Clever!
Awe it's hiding! I mean, good solution if it's taking up space. I always love when people hang their surfboards like art though. Like up on the wall. Be like heck yeah I know how to surf.
i guess if you get bored (board) in the shower you could wax it :). we don't surf, but i really want a vintage board and would put it in a corner of our bedroom.
Yes, clever for sure – I like your thinking!
A creative use of space! Where else would it look right in? This is perfect!
awesome idea, we have very similar situations going on in our studio 🙂
hahaha. this is awesome, erin!
That's a smart tip!
You are an inspiration.
makes complete sense. these are the things one must do in small spaces. we keep things stored in our miniature (un-usable) dishwasher. and wash all our dishes by hand. crazy yes..
hahaha, I think it's great and clever
I think it's great!
I have an ex boyfriend that is an avid surfer and has several boards. He keeps them displayed around his apartment- it looks kind of cool.
@meticulouscontentment @cindy @wendy surfboards as decoration can definitely be great–we kept two in our front hall in north carolina! now that things are a little cozier, there's not quite the space to prop or hang a board in our (one) room, alas.
@another feather hilarious adaptation!
to everyone, thanks as always for weighing in. i love your notes.
It's good to be creative…and create talking points. This definitely is one of them.
The only thing disgusting is that it's a long board… jk
brilliant.
Erin, you should meet the my cousin, Erin Boyle and her brother James Boyle sometime. The three generations of James Boyle's live in East Phoenix on a big dairy farm and Erin owns a resale shop with her husband near Sacramento, CA called Scout Living. https://www.facebook.com/erin.boyle.336
I’m not sure about that because showers are hot and although a board is meant to be in water…they do warp over time and I think this isn’t the best solution. The wax will get pretty moldy as well. Get that off with a razor. If you don’t plan on using it for surfing it’s a cool piece but if you do surf a warp will throw off the balance. I love this blog but don’t want you to mess up your nice longboard if it’s something you plan on using.
Not to worry. A short-lived experiment from five years ago. No surfboards were harmed!
