ticket prices for van morrison’s astral weeks live concert range from 90 to 350 dollars. as much as i love him (and i really do), when i heard the $350.00 price tag, i couldn’t help but think of all the other things i would buy if i had a spare wad of cash that size. aside from the list of practical things that i could use it to pay for (several weeks worth of groceries, close to half of our monthly rent, a student loan payment or two…), i think i would be more inclined to buy myself these:
and then maybe i would finally splurge on a few of these:
and while i was at it, i might get this too:
and in case anyone’s counting, i still have a few dollars left. so i would buy one of these:
what would you buy with $350 (financial crisis and consumer conscious aside)?

Oh my GOSH, I have been lusting after a pair of Frye boots. Those rock!
$350, you say? Well, the aforementioned Fryes or any number of pretty clothing items, I think Rock Band 2 for Wii has got to be on that list. Oh, or maybe I could put it toward a new couch. Or a kitchen mixer.
aside from*
let’s see.
1. t-shirts, dresses, and sweatshirts from american apparel (hate the ads, hate the shiny stuff, love the t-shirts).
2. bose headphones. don’t think 350 would cover it, sadly.
3. plane ticket to come see you.
4. new glasses. not stupid hipster ones.
I love all of your picks, and in fact just bought myself the little shelf city!
I love, love, love your blog and have added you to my favorites! xoxo
yer love
but that’s already free!
That blouse is great!
that question got me all excited!! i could have so much fun with an extra $350!! i’d probably road trip it somewhere or buy some fun things for around the house.
i lovelovelove van morrison. i saw him in concert w/ my family, a few years back & while we had a good time, i didn't think he was a good live performer at all. just my opinion though!
even after his less-than-expected performance, i still <3 him & his music.
a trip definitely!
hmmm… well, I have to admit that a few weeks ago I impulsively bought two tickets to see Del Amitri in Edinburgh so although they were only 50 pounds each (a friend from Sweden will use the other ticket) it is going to cost me a fair amount to fly there, haha…. and then there are hotels etc etc.
I LOVE Van Morrison and he is one person I have wanted to see live and never have but I guess I think that for $350 I would prefer to go back in time and see him at some small club somewhere.
