i stumbled across the most amazing little museum yesterday. and the best part was that i could visit it from the comfort of my very own couch. the web museum of wood types is dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of wood types and engraved blocks like the beauties shown above. if you find yourself ogling fonts on a regular basis (and i know you do), you will love this little curiosity shop.  check it out here.

    several months ago I started to buy letterpress blocks, thinking it might be my “learn a new skill” for this year–planned to buy a small handpress, until I discovered they are more expensive than I’d hoped (and mightn’t work with all of my new blocks! anyway, I love these too. My favorite (of mine) is a tiny spreading oak tree. when you get home, i’ll show you…
