five little things that made my week.
1. ferns on the porch.
{because of the way the evening light filters through them}.
2. ice cubes.
{because they make everything more festive}.
3. buffalo china.
{because there is nothing like sipping milky coffee out of a thick white mug}.
4. blueberry waffles.
{because when i was about to have a melt-down about the lack of coffee shops in which i could do my work and eat a decent breakfast, james whisked me out for a big old malted waffle. not exactly a working breakfast, but the perfect remedy all the same}.
5. vintage chemistry glassware.
{because james found a neat little pile of it and it’s the perfect combination of nerdy scientist and nerdy historian, just like us}.
so, what little something made your week?

bon weekend! (what will your weekend in objects be?)
love this post. isn't it the little things that make life so joyful.
Love milky coffee in a thick white mug. Why does it always taste/feel better that way.
O and breakfast yum!
This morning: walking the dog early, snuggling with my three year old, coffee and good conversation at work.
Have a wonderful weekend!
The chemistry glassware is wonderful, my fella is a scientist so we would appreciate that. 🙂
My favorite pair of summer pajamas made my week, I'm still in them having a long lazy morning.
The chemistry glasses are awesome. But I'll probably be thinking of those waffles all day now. This week, it was seeing my guy's play that made it turn up roses. Happy weekend!
I totally agree about coffee in thick white china! There is something so clean and pleasing about white china! Things that made my week are a delicious pomegranate green tea from Celestial Seasonings with honey, helping my mom to start a blog and join Twitter, my Zumba class, and walking home from downtown last night on a deliciously sunny summer evening after days and days of rain.
pretty pictures, as always. i love your week in objects! great ice cube shot 🙂
it is very hard to photograph breakfast food but dare i say it – you have a knack for such things!
oh those waffles. i need to go eat breakfast
Lovely photos – oh yum to the waffles!
love this post … and am loving the looks of those waffles!
oh, I love milky coffee! I almost always drink mine out of a white floral mug I got from Starbucks. Makes me happy for sure.
another thing that made my week? getting a good review from my editor during my one-year evaluation today! yippee! (not that I was that worried, but you never know…)
hope you have a great weekend!
what is a "malted waffle"? i think i want one for dinner!
what little something made my week? today i found a tiny 1 oz. blue tin with "NIVEA Creme" written in white across the face of the lid. there is a pretty textured foil seal beneath the lid, protecting the creme. i found it in the chinatown walgreens. it was on sale for .74. it is simple and lovely and makes me happy.
wonderful photos.
a priceless scene of the glowing setting sunlight on a green field in the country made my week. i stopped to capture it with my camera. but it was being there that was the great part. i wish the camera could have caught every sense i got there—not just the sights.
Sounds like a lovely week, friend! Love the vintage glassware, can I have it?
been looking forward to this post all week. you have such a way of elevating the mundane….have a great weekend. something that made my week was truckin in our camper through various states and watching my kids stare out the windows at our beautiful country.
vintage chemistry glassware?! i want to see more.
This is making me way too hungry! 🙂
The coffee and waffles made me smile…I seriously do think drinking something in the perfect vessel makes all the difference! This week I was just so happy to see he sunshine (finally) and have some downtime with my dogs and husband. I took a lot of pictures, too.
I love how James helped to make your week even more spectacular – what a guy! Photos are great!
I enjoyed a week of less computer, more reading, and eating every meal outdoors!
