I've never been to Texas either but have wanted to go to Austin for a long while now. I love how Dallas seems to have a few eras of time represented by the architecture in those photos.xo
nice…some of these could be brooklyn—has such a good ole americana feel. i particluarly like the steps into the underground but i feel like burrowing quite a bit lately!
aren't these lovely? i did a little research, and the ornate red building was originally built as the city courthouse and now houses the old red museum of dallas county history and culture–i think i need to visit dallas! {in an interesting little side note, its romanesque revival architectural style is the same as that of the original courthouse and post office here in wilmington!}

that mural is incredible… is it spray-painted or like a tile mosaic, i wonder? at any rate, it is beautiful. thanks for posting! -maria
This may sound naive, but I always wondered what Dalla Texas looks like! Thanks for the sneak peak.

Joslyn is the coolest. I was in Dallas for a week once and loved it! Gorgeous architecture. Beautiful art museum.

Bee-yew-tiful! That church (?) is amazing.
Dallas is next on my TX to-go list. I live in Houston, and we just visited Austin on the weekend. Next will be Dallas and San Antonio!

Hi Erin! I was just wondering, I live in Scotland, and I was wondering how you would feel about a Scottish 'Your Downtown'?
I love this post you do – if you're ever in need of someone to do a "your downtown" Seattle let me know, I'd be happy to participate!
