I love your Downtown series! The boot scrapers are wonderful – I love finding them and thinking about who has scraped their boots upon their sturdy iron grips! We have a lot of snow here and a good boot scraper is hard to find! Thanks!
i've never seen a boot scraper before. great post! oh, and i've been meaning to tell you that your mom's gingerbread cookies were a hit at the thanksgiving gatherings i attended. they're perfect with a cup of tea or coffee. tell your mom thanks for me.
You know these are all over Dublin and I never once thought about what they are (funny the way you sometimes don't question things you grew up with) Now you've opened my eyes I'll notice them everywhere. Thank you!
We have one of these, from Aunt Ruth's house, that we meant to affix to the back door-stone, but have never done…p'raps we should do it now!! need some masonry skills/drills…will dig it out so's ye can see it…

1. i was born in providence. we lived on angel street.
2. my sister went to brown. her name is hope. we sang a special song every time we drove down hope street when i visited her.
