today, a recipe for a little february treat! i brought these little snacks to a party on saturday night and had to stop myself from eating them all before we arrived. the recipe i used is adapted from the lee brothers recipe for cheese straws {found here and here}, but instead of cutting the dough into thin straws, i cut it into little cracker shapes, added some chili powder and currants, et voila. so, so good.

mmm…the chili powder sounds like a pretty genius addition. i'm going to have to try that sometime.

on another note, my grandmother (a super-baker in her own right) is still talking about the gingerbread cookies i made for thanksgiving from your mom's recipe!

They're cute…and remind me of snacks I used to have as a kid. That's instant comfort food 🙂
