over the river and through the woods. before this weekend the closest i ever got to a horse drawn sleigh was that back stoop of my parents house where i would sit, little sisters next to me, cracking my invisible whip and urging my imaginary horse to please step it up a notch because one or the other was on the brink of expiring from consumption. let me just say, the real thing {minus the consumption bit} is decidedly better.
on saturday james and i got the call from our friend kaitlynne that conditions were just right for a sleigh ride. kaitlynne’s dad keeps horses and she’d been telling us for a year that if enough snow fell, we’d get to go for a ride.
there were jingle bells.
and i’m still walking on air.
