while i will continue to tout the restorative effects of filling your home with wintertime bulbs and watching them grow inch by careful inch, there’s another quick fix for fighting the winter blues that works in an entirely different sort of way. growing up just minutes from some of the very best pizza on earth {challenge if you dare} has been both a blessing and a curse. when i’m at my parents home it means that a quick drive in the car {followed by an inevitable wait outside the door} will put me in front of an aluminum try lined with parchment and filled to brimming with one of the biggest, bubbliest, most delicious pies i’ve ever tasted. as for the rest of the time, it means settling for something that doesn’t really ever seem to measure up. in any case, a night out for pizza is a surefire way to cure {at least momentarily} the pesky blues. add a pitcher of beer and sisters and the recipe is complete. now tell me, what’s your favorite pizza joint? maybe we can plan a cross-country pizza tasting road trip…

Although Pizzaria Regina and Upper Crust are pretty good, none of the places in Boston seem to be as good as most of the pizza places in NJ that I remember growing up. Many a Friday night growing up we would pick up a pizza and then go get a movie at the video store down the street. Then the hardest thing is getting home with a hot pizza steaming up the windshield without peeking in the box.
We did just get our first decent pizza place near my office at BU. It's about time.
Oh, that is one of my favorite meals! That pizza looks divine! My favorite pizza in Maine is Flatbread Pizza in Portland, ME – DELICIOUS!!! You should come visit!!
omg, I saw the pizza photo first and thought, THAT is a Pepe's pizza…….aaaahhhhhhh, do I LOVE them! The fresh tomato pie sans cheese is the absolute best (served during fresh tomato season) and the white clam with bacon….to die for. I am now starving.
Bob and Timmy's Pizza in Providence is pretty good – I love the one with Vodka sauce!
yes, i know! i love bob and timmy's. only problem is, james once had a terrible allergic reaction there, so it's a no go. harumph!
I'm nuts for pizza, we have this place here in houston, indian-italian fusion, called bombay pizza co., and they have this one called "gateway to india".. tandoori chicken, crab meat, artichoke hearts… the sauce is a cilantro-mint chutney. its insaaaannneee (i'm so hungry).
oh my, I am salivating right now! ahhh! where is this?
making me hungry…so, so hungry!

I make my own in my backyard on the grill. It works. I make a simple pizza with olive oil, and some chopped rosemary for the sauce, and topped with mozzarella, basil, and tomatoes from the garden.
It's easy and delicious.
Working at Domino's while I was a teenager has put me right off pizza, but that one looks really yuuummmmmmm.
yum! we have a couple of really good places here. i like pizza scholls!
