spring cleaning. March 30, 2011 i’ve been trying my best to incorporate these old standards into my cleaning routine.essential oil. baking soda. vinegar. and elbow grease.suffice it to say, vinegar is a miracle worker.for recipes, humor, and more detailed descriptions about how to use these bad boys and others like them, buy raleigh’s book which i crowed about last year. it’s still just as great. cleaning home 9 Comments Share: ERIN BOYLE Older Post Newer PostYou Might Also Like my week in objects (mostly). Reply Marcie March 30, 2011 at 4:11 pmYes! I love spring cleaning (well not love, but the result is love). Thanks for the list and getting me motivated. I am new here and love the blog!Marcie Reply Taylor Yves March 30, 2011 at 4:21 pmyes, vinegar rocks. i dilute mine with water and sometimes add vanilla. the vanilla doesn't actually end up smelling strongly, but it takes the bite off the vinegar. and you know salt is a wonderful scrub, right? awesome. Reply rebecca March 30, 2011 at 5:40 pmlovely pictures – i love natural cleaning supplies… good to see you back! 🙂 Reply Mo Pie, Please March 30, 2011 at 6:13 pmInteresting! I need to do some serious spring cleaning. I washed the inside of our windows over the weekend, that felt like a big accomplishment! Reply the lil bee March 30, 2011 at 7:33 pmI've heard this (from my mom, of course!) but never tried it. More importantly, I love your photos:) xo Reply Rachel March 30, 2011 at 7:53 pmOh, this is what I would like to be doing this week. Our apartment is driving me crazy. Alas, work.I was good about the vinegar and baking soda for a while, but I fell back into the clutches of my cleaning products. At least they're more environmentally friendly ones from Whole Foods? Reply Lauren March 30, 2011 at 10:14 pmVinegar and baking soda are the ONLY things I have found to work in my apartment considering the delicacy of the finishes I have. After my bathtub was damaged by harsh abrasives (I'm looking at you, Comet and Vim, grrr), baking soda was the only cleaning product that worked to get deep-set grime out. Reply rebecca April 5, 2011 at 3:55 pmsometimes i have to bring in the husband for the elbow grease part. but vinegar will clean most anything.
