    So these are just black birch branches? Does it have a certain taste? I'm so curious about this!

    @Daniella yes! just twigs from a black birch tree. they have wintergreen essential oils in them (think birch beer, or gum) and you can smell them as soon as you begin to clip! FYI: it's better for the tree if you stick to foraging for fallen branches!
