a job well done.

flowers1 flowers5 flowers2 on valentine’s day, while i was out, james ventured to our local florist and handpicked the blooms that would go into a sweet bouquet just for me.

full stop.

now, i don’t mean to sound ungrateful for past flowery surprises, but suffice to say, we’ve have come a long way from the day of gerbera daisies in plastic straws. impressive, no?

also, james would like you all to know he did not pick out the dark purple sweet peas. apparently the florist went rogue with those guys.

Nice job, James! Mark also got me white ranunculus with purple sweat peas. Only instead of the purple wax flower he picked some sort of orchid I've never seen before.

gorgeous bouquet! my beau also handpicked flowers for me and according to him, the florist thanked him for being a creative respite from all the rose requests. ha!

Kudos to James! Simply gorgeous. Of course the white blooms steal the show (ranunculus?), but I'll always be a sucker for the humble waxflower too. And I'm also a huge fan of the silvery green foliage. I still have some from a bouquet from last summer – it dries very nicely and is fun to stick a few sprigs in tiny old bottles. Have no idea what its called though! In any case, this is a bouquet to be proud of. Job well done, indeed!

agreed (yes! ranunculus!) and the silvery green is a variety of eucalyptus! will definitely be plucking those guys out once the rest have wilted!
