this weekend marked one year since james and i first looked for apartments in brooklyn. a year ago i had just been offered a job, i hadn’t yet finished grad school and we had two days to find something decent enough to live in. we saw lots of terrible apartments, but we also saw lots of roses. they kept us going after seeing a fifth closet advertised as a bedroom. now, a year later, i’ve quit my job and we’re still figuring out our life in brooklyn. some days feel pretty topsy turvy. but the roses are back, some things are sure.

The roses are beautiful! š
So lovely.
Your photography always makes my day. So beautiful. Also, as someone who will be moving from a house into an apartment in the fall, I love your 'Life in a Tiny Apartment' series. š
thanks so much, rebecca! so glad to have you here.
Your photography is just beautiful.
I wish you all the best. You've made a gorgeous home in your 'tiny apartment'!

Roses are my absolute favorite-est flower. They just make the world beautiful.

that's lovely! when I first moved here there was something about that first time I saw something recur… feeling like I had seen one full rotation and something familiar returning. Roses are certainly worth waiting for.
Beautiful photos. I'm sure everything will come together soon for you!
Gotta count the blessings where (and when) you find them!
Your blog is a gem.
