{for catching the morning light, just so}.

4. this hat.{for keeping me warm on morning walks}.
5. these stamps.{because they might be terribly tiny, but they always get it right}.

that hat looks SO cozy!
i need to know more about that marvelous garlic-roasting packet. peeled garlic? temp/time? parchment paper? nickname?
parchment paper with a whole head of garlic. how-to: lop of the top of the head. peel off outermost layer of skin, but keep the whole head intact. drizzle with olive oil. wrap up in parchment paper like an old-timey candy. roast in the oven (350 F) for about an hour, or until the garlic cloves are squishy (technical term). the cloves should pop right out of papery shell when you give a little pinch. more details/photo of the result, here: https://readingmytealeaves.com/2012/11/butternut-squash-roasted-and-mashed.html). groan, moan, love.
Yes, please tell about the garlic parchment! Is it a piece of parchment you've rolled up and reuse? I used to have luck with roasting garlic, but haven't done it in awhile and can't seem to get it right these days.
hmm..i don't reuse the parchment paper because it tends to get stiff after an hour in the oven. some folks use little terracotta cloches. i've never tried one of those!
I miss the crab apple tree that was right outside my window at my parent's house. It's a happy memory.
Love your hat!
I like the idea of winter goals. And that lookbook is stunning.
i just love that first photo of the leaves! so nicely captured.
Mmmm.. garlic. Soft, flavorful and .. pungent. Perfect for a love affair, and it doesn't mind the garlic breath..
I like this hat. Did you knit it yourself? And what are these tiny black things, I am so intrigued! I Love the 'week in objects' format, it's so simple and evocative.
I really love your five things posts and your beautiful pictures. They remind me to look at the world up close.
I so love that mini stamp set and I'd love to order a set for myself as well. Would you mind sharing where I would be able to get one too? They would be perfect for holiday gift tagging!
I got my set at a local office supply store! You can usually find them at Staples, too!
Thanks for posting the Summerland lookbook, so glad you like it!!
winter light on leaves gets me every time too! What is it about that thin sunlight that makes it look so much prettier than summer sun?
