Tip #68: Walk.
This tip brought to you by last night’s Brooklyn sunset.
As much as you’re possibly able, take an after dinner walk.
It is always worth it. Every single time. It doesn’t matter if you’re feeling tired, or if it’s blustery or raining or swelteringly hot. If you’re not feeling up to it, all the more reason to strap on your sandals and head outside.
The ability to take an after dinner walk when it is still light out is a treat that only lasts a few weeks in this part of the world. Kind of like those strawberries.
In what might be the most cheeseball move of all time, I propose a hashtag. For the rest of the week, a little game to hold each other accountable to take post suppertime strolls. If you’re up to it, add #afterdinnerwalk to your instagrams or tweets. I want to see what your worlds look like.

Great idea! Can't wait to see the pictures/tweets!
an after dinner walk sounds amazing. I think me and my bf will have to start doing this now that it's lighter out longer! xo

I LOVE THIS IDEA!! How fun!
The sun doesn't go down until 11pm here in Scotland. It comes up at 3:30 am. Seriously. I'm LOVING all the sunlight! I can't get enough. I'll join in on this #afterdinnerwalk fun!
Amazing! I'd be in heaven (in the summertime!)!
I love this. We tend to just watch TV after dinner.. I'm going to propose a stroll this evening x
I love this idea! My boyfriend & I have been making more of an effort to do this now that its nice, rather than being sucked into TV marathons like usual. I'll be sharing my #afterdinnerwalk tonight! – Liz
So glad!
Great idea! Having two dogs means I walk EVERY night after dinner, regardless of the weather (hello, winter time sub zero instant freeze dog poo). Walking during the summer is one of my favorite evening activities!
Oh, dear! I'm a fan of wintry walks too…but nothing beats summer for me.
Like Broomcakes, I also walk the dogs morning and evening. Yep, here in Maine we also have frozen dog poo, as well as rained upon goo. But out here in the country I have turkeys, deer, goldfinches, mourning doves, a bobcat, horses, glorious sunrises and sunsets, those woods dark and deep, wildflowers, and OMG the stars! The night sky out here in the dark, far away from city lights, is a revelation.
Great idea. I'm in.
Love this!
this is great! can i retroactively hashtag? 🙂
Of course! (Loved your photos)!
This is a lovely reminder. On a similar note, I tried to tweet it but your tweetmeme app doesn't seem to be working. I just wanted to let you know because I wouldn't want people to miss out on tweeting your posts. (Don't worry, I just cut and pasted the link). Thanks for brightening my days with your space.
Thanks so much for letting me know! Now, to figure a way to fix it!

What a lovely idea!
I do this nearly everyday 🙂 I may add the hashtag to a few old photos if that's okay 🙂

I'm a huge walker, but sadly not a good solo sunset walker. You've inspired me – and, I so enjoyed scrolling through the hashtags last night!
What a great picture! It's about catching the moment, isn't it.
awww what a lovely idea. I'd love to show you what my after dinner walks look like! Sadly they are far and few between during the week.
