make-believe: the beach at high noon

beach-at-noon

Having a baby in the summer is wonderful for all kinds of reasons, but it does complicate midday beach-going a touch. There’s the blazing sun and new baby skin to navigate, not to mention the hour-plus subway ride and the hauling of supplies. In my daydreams, it’s easier. Just me and the babe under a beach umbrella that never tips and sand that doesn’t scorch. And these things:

1. A classic bathing suit top & bottom2. A new pair of sunglasses, especially since my only pair made off with a park bench recently. 3. Sunscreen for keeping my nose from getting too pink 4. White Birkenstocks, because in my daydreams I wouldn’t look down at my feet and think, clodhoppers.  5. roomy tote for stashing necessaries like tacos which magically stay sand-free and piping hot. 6. A striped beach umbrella for saving ourselves from the sun 7. A beachy onesie for a little beach bum I know.

More make-believe.

Love this, especially those sunglasses. This is off topic but I'm looking for a good natural toothpaste in light of the negative press Colgate is getting. Do you have any recommendations? Thanks so much.
