my week in objects (mostly).

April 10, 2015

five little things that made my week.

1. this little duck on wheels.
duck {because i keep finding it in different places. and it’s always cheery, even when it falls flat on its head. life lessons from a wooden duck.}

2. these spices from my friend claire.
spices {we’ve used the kozani blend in every single one of our soups this winter. and the kampot & salt is faye’s personal favorite, spicy little bug. (mine too.)}

3. this grey ribbon.
ribbon {because sometimes caterpillars need longer leashes. lessons learned from a two-year old.}

4. this tiny hand-me-down carseat-sheepie-turned-high-chair-sheepie.
sheepie chair {because my mom toted it with her to the city for us to use in faye’s highchair.}

5. this empty wallet.
wallet {because it had been stuffed to the gills with receipts that needed taking care of and i finally had a few minutes to file them (electronically) away.}

other things:
i’m headed straight to the 7th floor.
bubbles in the late afternoon.
selfish sewing pays off.
the prettiest book proposal i ever did see.
all of my favorite good-smelling things in one little bundle.
one awesome thing.

me in other places.

    Random, but how do you file your receipts electronically? As an aspiring minimalist, I'm always looking for ways to get rid of excess paper!

      I use the website/app call Expensify. I'm saving receipts mostly just for tax purposes, so with Expensify I can take a photo, keep track of date and purchase and file immediately according to category of expense (travel, meals, etc.!). It works really well for me!

    Kampot pepper is the BEST (I live there, so I should know!). If you ever get a chance to eat the peppercorns fresh, they are amazing.
