my week in objects (mostly).

October 5, 2018

five little things that made my week.

1. this cauldron.

{i mean, casserole. mostly the beans.}

2. this spool.

{and the magnet i glued onto it. good for unlocking baby-proofed cabinets. not an eyesore on the fridge.}

3. these screws.
{and the low-hanging access to our little guys’ favorite tools.}

4. this bread.

{and the person who made it.}

5. these slippers.

{and thoughtful conversations (about shoes and otherwise).}Ā

other things:

black friday.

oscar the grouch melted onto pizza dough. sold.

once malice is embraced as a virtue, it is impossible to contain.

alive with rage.

in the face of mass disinterest.

this story goes really well with tea. (via alexandra.)

    Thank you for helping me to slow down this morning with the story about tea. My own morning tea ritual is one of the things that gets me out of bed in the morning. Her story was a calming antidote to this week’s enraging news.

    As someone who has moved regularly my entire life and had a fierce defensiveness for the place I was born but never felt entirely at home in I have struggled with the concept of home. That tea story ripped something open in me. I got all teary while at work! Such beauty in the midst of a lot of awful this week. Thanks for that!

    Thanks for pointing to the article about M.I.A. I really found it interesting, as well as the Guardian article linked in its first paragraph. Shocking, that when we #believewomen they might actually be telling… the truth?
