my week in objects (mostly).

November 16, 2018

five little things that made my week.

1. these drying woolens.

{because i sure love summer, but snow is pretty great too.}

2. this short spoon.

{because a small little handle makes a big difference.}

3. these ilex berries.

{delivered by a four-year-old and her papa as the first flakes fell.}

4. this hooked bag.

{and sitting down to coffee with the lovely person who made it.}

5. these bulbs.

{in hopes of blooms come spring.}

other things:

california fire help.

victim or vixen?

decolonizing thanksgiving.

updating old new york at the american museum of natural history.

just one please.

there to check off a thing on a list. BUT ALSO THIS. (AND THIS.)

    I have to say sitting here in the hazardous air of Sacramento this week has made me rethink small space living. Since this is the third solid week this year of air untenable for outdoor activity and I know this will get worse not better, I think my next living situation needs to have space sufficient to burn off kid energy while trapped indoors and include a treadmill for me. These are minor problems compared to friends who live(d) in Paradise but it has shifted what I think we’ll need in the long term. The devastation from our now year round fire season is heartbreaking and unrelenting.

    I am beyond obsessed with that bag. I absolutely do NOT need another fiber hobby but I absolutely DO want to try rug hooking!!! Dilemma!

    Hi Erin,

    I understand the spoon – I have recently moved and had to give up using a particular short length slim wooden kitchen spoon. I’ve had to pace my city to find another like it. They make spoons for giants.

    Just stumbled upon this blog, which I’m sure will prove VEEEERRRRRYYY dangerous to me!! I love, Love, LOVE your esthetic. Your woolens tho, can you share the yarn manufacturer? They are stunning. Also, did I mention I LOVE this site????? 🙂

    The pom pomed hat on the drying rack – can you share the yarn/color used? Lovely blog, very peaceful vibe.

      Thank you! All three hats are pom-pomed, so I’m not sure which details you’re hoping for, but they’re also all from Misha and Puff and not knit by me, so specifics elude me!
