my week in objects (mostly).

March 22, 2019

1. this paint brush.

{and a tiny jar of spackle, because what’s better than a patched nail hole?}

2 .these paper chains.

{and whole minutes of before-dinner calm.}

3. this avocado pit.

{because i’m not sure if it will grow, but it feels nice to try.}

4. these brooms.

{for playing so nicely.}

5. this lamp.

{for offering a friendly glow in a rainy week.}

other things:

circular(s).

skilled labor.

on repeat lately.

the cost of your silence.

oh, angela.

the unbearable whiteness of her grift.

speaking of rainy weeks.

    I haven’t followed the Theranos media storm in detail and the words “hot mess” would not come to mind for me when looking at the image in the short piece you linked to, but the analysis did make me think. Thanks for sharing that.

    Here is the secret to growing avocado (forgive me if you know this already): you can’t get imported ones to grow, because they’re irradiated. Look for an avocado from Florida or California. The weird smooth ones with giant pits are best. We’ve always had really good luck!
