a live class with skillshare.

May 13, 2020

I’m very much looking forward to the day when it’s not just me and my immediate family sitting around our table. Scratch that, and forgive me, but I can’t wait to sit around the table with anyone BUT my immediate family. The zoomed out version of these photographs would include Faye eating sliced apples in the next seat over. Across from her you’d see Silas turned upside down in his chair (to better inspect the underside of the table with his magnifying glass, of course), and James, their beleaguered parent, trying without success to capture their attention with a short educational film about sheepherding.

I’ve started to fantasize about inviting friends over for tea and heading to someone else’s house for a cocktail. Nothing sounds better to me than a dinner party with everyone squished around a big table in a small apartment, reveling in the closeness of bodies and breath. Until then, a bit of virtual togetherness will have to do.

Tomorrow afternoon, I’ll be doing a LIVE session with Skillshare via Zoom and I hope you’ll join me!

The session will draw on some of the ideas I presented in my Everyday Minimalism class that launched on Skillshare in March. Since then I’ve been working on a simple exercise to help us all first evaluate how are spaces are making us feel and second, figure out what small change or actionable step we might take to tilt the scales toward feeling better. By way of example, I’ll be walking participants through my own process for tackling a recent pandemic-specific problem I was facing in my tiny kitchen. Cheap thrills!

I so hope some of you can make it.

Craving having friends over for dinner with kids running around playing and screaming. Wine and/or cocktails all around. Very excited for this to be ~over~ but, also want it to be safe to be over. All of the mixed emotions πŸ™‚ thanks for doing skill share classes!

I think peonies are an excellent sub for lilac. I’ll admit we (and our nostrils) are pretty lilaced out! Good luck on your live class

    Hi Erin!
    Loved your class today.
It was truly inspiring. My husband loved listening to your recommendations.
I am curious how you tackle the trash situation? How do you store all the different trashcans?
Thanks so much for sharing all of your wisdom with small and intentional living.
Also, I have been following you for years. We finally took the plunge to downsize when we realized that our quality of life can truly be better in a smaller space. <3

I really enjoyed your class yesterday! I am inspired to spend time thinking about how some rooms make me feel and what changes I can make to make those feelings more positive. Thank you!

Hey Erin! I RSVP’d for your LIVE but then wasn’t able to watch. Do you know if it was recorded and if it will be posted anywhere to watch after the fact? Thanks a bunch!

They’re hoping to make it available, yes! I’ll post a link here for sure if they do!
