I am not sure I followed the “in time” concept but generally on the topic of iPhones for kids – a parent can certainly make whatever decision, and I agree with all the reservations of doing so, as I share them. However, unless the constraint is financial, it rings hypocritical to me to rely on other peoples choices (prejudged in this article) to provide what connectivity and convenience your child requires. The other parents, who buy the phones for their kids, so the author’s kid can use them when needed … they don’t have reservations? Or maybe they chose the lesser evil and decided safety is more important? If you wish to make a moral stance, make it. Stick to it though, without expecting to circumvent it behind the hard choices and even sacrifices made by others.
