2. these madeleines-to-be.

{and james’s mid-day baking habits.}

3. this week’s stoop find.

{perfect for a rainy day.}

4. this “french” wall.

{and its curator.}

5. this pillow stack.

{and its big kid.}

other things:

something to celebrate!

the four rental apartments in new york.

trash or recycling?

anatomy of a quilt…a choice but also a pleasure.

a plain old cook.

a hero’s journey.

a common store of folk-wisdom, now extinct.

matrilineal feast of dreams. (also! essential labor).

sweetheart, you’re in pain. relax, take a breath.

    Hello. I was wondering if you could share the source for the lovely french flashcards in your post. My daughter is learning and they suit her minimalist style. Thanks!! Love your posts!!

    Cannot stop thinking about the concept of the hero’s journey since reading that fabulous article. Been experiencing long covid symptoms since visiting family at Christmas and it has been hell, but everyone else is living like business as usual. I homeschool a ten year old with so much energy and I have not felt this tired since the newborn days. Reframing this journey of that of a hero is much brighter perspective!

    Those candles! They look like a just-picked bunch of rainbow carrots. Yummy.

    Would love James’s recipe for madeleines, if he has a good one!
